2024 Solo album featuring Scriabin Piano Sonatas 1-5 & Fantaisie

Alexander Scriabin's music resonates with me in a special way. It’s the best of Chopin combined with the best of Rachmaninoff, always passionately intense and pressing, taking on the whole world and the depth of human emotion and expression that comes with it. His textures span all of the keyboard register in what feels like a demand to play everywhere at once, in order to match the scope of his ambitions. It’s riveting and explosive on one hand but also immensely tender and intimate on the other. This mix, this completeness, is what has drawn me into Scriabin’s world. Especially up until the fifth sonata, when he is still grounded in tonality and builds his compositions on the pillars of classical and romantic form (and before venturing completely into the unknown in his late works). I played my first Scriabin work back in 2010, and have since then taken one major work every couple of years or so to include in my repertoire.

Finally in 2024 I felt it was the right time to document this journey in an ultimate recording that would make my interpretations justice. And thanks to generous financial support from Längmanska Kulturfonden, Wilhelm & Martina Lundgrens Understödsfond and sponsors from Patreon and a campaign on Indiegogo I could make this dream come true! I have recorded all the works in Studio Epidemin in Gothenburg with producer Johannes Lundgren behind the mics and editing table, and I’m so happy to finally present the result of this long journey and many hours of hard work. The album is now available on all major music streaming platforms, as well as for sale on Bandcamp and iTunes.
